As a percussionist, one of my favorite instruments to play is the timpani. I wrote this piece to be performed on my undergraduate degree recital, as well as for scholarship auditions and a jury. This piece combines some fun techniques from different pieces I’ve played, hence the name Timapani I (a merging of my name and the word timpani, and leaving room to write more movements).
