In my experiences as a performer, I loved working together with composers to bring new ideas to life. My experiences working with composers like Andrea Clearfield, LeAndre Benton, and Katahj Copley have shown me that being a composer is about more than simply putting notes on a page. It is about making connections with the world around us and the people in it.  These interactions are ultimately what inspired me to become a composer myself, so that I might share in the joy of the collaborative process and write music that engages performers and audiences.
